NHI and Faulty Economics

In a recent newspaper article Dr. Stanley Lalta responded to an analysis of the National Health Insurance plan ("NHI") by Mr. Nadeem Esmail of the Fraser Institute of Canada. He is quoted as saying that Bahamian economic growth would not be harmed by the implementation of NHI. He contends that other countries have had both economic growth and similar health plans; and he cited countries such as Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, Singapore and France in support of his assertion.
