Economics of Liberty Lecture Series 2012 featuring Dr. Richard Ebeling

Thanks to The Templeton Foundations, we are able to present Dr. Richard Ebeling with our Spring Lecture Series 2012 once again.

Dr. Ebeling will be visiting this year for lectures from 9am to 5pm on Thursday, April 19 and Friday April 20, 2012.

Professor Randy Forbes has assisted once again and the lectures will take place in the state of the art lecture room in the Harry C. Moore Library at the College of The Bahamas, Moss Road and JFK Boulevard entrance.

This year either one lucky College of The Bahamas or high school student will win an all-expense paid trip to the Foundation of Economic Education’s Freedom Academy or Freedom University in Salt Lake City, Utah or Atlanta, Georgia.

The lectures include
The Moral Foundations of Liberty and Personal Responsibility
Scarcity, Choice, Property Rights and the Gains from Trade, Markets, Competition and the Price System
Why Socialism Failed: False Dreams and Tragic Reality
Government Regulation and the Interventionist State
Public Choice: Economic Logic and the Limits of the Political Process
Understanding Booms and Busts: Money, Inflation and the Business Cycle
Preserving the Environment: Markets or Government?
The Ethics of Economics and the Welfare State
The Morality of Markets and Profit
The Virtues of Freedom: Restoring a Society of Liberty
Wrap up.

Lunch (sandwiches and chips) and break time snacks (cookies, water and juice) are included.
