On Thursday, Octobert 20, 2016 The Nassau Institute & The College of The Bahamas presented a lecture by Professor Richard Ebeling on “Entrepreneurship, the Market Economy and Human Betterment” in the lecture hall at the Harry C. Moore Library at College of The Bahamas (now the University of The Bahamas) starting at 6:30pm.
Summary of lecture:
“We easily take for granted the continuous and wondrous material and cultural improvements in our everyday lives. But they are neither guaranteed nor certain. Instead, they are due to the entrepreneurial mind and spirit that, in fact, is potentially in any one of us. But the innovations, creativity and alertness to market opportunities from which human betterment comes is dependent upon a political and economic environment of freedom and competitive openness, without which prosperity and rising standards of living would be impossible. “
